Cray Home: Blending Functionality and Design in Home Textiles

How Cray Home is redefining microfiber towels with innovative design, AI-driven marketing, and a steadily growing wholesale presence.

At Las Vegas Market 2025, we spoke with Brittany Nelson, co-owner of Cray Home, to discuss how the company has transformed from a small, homegrown business into a recognized name in home textiles. With a focus on blending aesthetics with high-performance materials, Cray Home is bringing a fresh perspective to the microfiber towel market.

From a Simple Idea to a Growing Brand

Cray Home was born out of a simple yet frustrating problem: towels were either functional but unattractive or beautiful but ineffective. Brittany and her business partner set out to change that.

We wanted something that looked good in our homes but also worked,” Brittany explained. “Most tea towels don’t absorb well, and the ones that do aren’t visually appealing. We aimed to bring both together.

Positioning in the Market

Now in their third year at the wholesale market, Cray Home has gained a strong customer base by offering high-quality, ultra-soft microfiber towels that appeal to both retail buyers and interior-conscious consumers.

Many people are unfamiliar with microfiber towels or associate them with rough textures,” Brittany said. “That’s why being at events like this is so important—buyers can see, touch, and feel the difference in our towels firsthand.

Cray Home has built an engaged audience online, leveraging Instagram and direct-to-consumer retail to scale organically before expanding into wholesale.

Starting as two moms running a business from their homes, Cray Home has grown steadily by adapting to trends and carefully expanding its reach. Rather than rushing into wholesale, Brittany and Stephanie ensured they had the production capacity to meet demand without compromising quality.

We didn’t want to jump in without enough product to support our growth,” Brittany said. “Instead, we took a stepping-stone approach, making sure we were ready for each stage before moving forward.”

Leveraging AI for Growth

Cray Home is also exploring AI to refine its marketing efforts.

We’ve dabbled in AI, and it’s been helpful in finding the right audience for our brand,” Brittany noted. “AI helps push our products to people who align with our aesthetic and values, making our marketing more effective.

Additionally, AI plays a role in the backend of their Shopify operations, helping optimize product listings and customer engagement.

Expanding Beyond the Expo

Looking ahead, Cray Home is focused on hiring, expanding product lines, and refining designs in-house to stay ahead of trends.

Stephanie does all the designing, which allows us to predict upcoming styles and create new patterns for the next seasons,” Brittany said. “We’re growing steadily by keeping an eye on the market and continuously improving our offerings.

With its focus on design, quality, and thoughtful expansion, Cray Home is carving out a strong presence in the home textile market—one beautifully designed microfiber towel at a time.
